NBC was the most-watched network for DNC coverage last night, while CNN was the most-watched cable news network. And for the second night in a row, CNN topped broadcast networks ABC and CBS
During the 10-11:15pm time period, which featured the speech from Sen. Hillary Clinton, CNN averaged 4.857M Total Viewers, ABC drew 4.758M, CBS posted 3.824M, FNC had 3.551M and MSNBC averaged 2.657M.
ABC grew 22% from its lead-in show, “Wanna Bet” while NBC, which was #1 overall with 5.98M, lost half its viewers from their “America’s Got Talent” lead-in. CBS also shed viewers with a 6.26M viewer lead-in “Big Brother.”
As for the cable news nets, when compared to the second night of the 2004 DNC, Fox News Channel had the most growth with 89%. CNN was up 64% and MSNBC was up 39%.
