NBC Correspondents Decertify AFTRA

By Brian

“NBC network correspondents have voted to leave the AFTRA union,” a tipster says, preferring to receive “the medical and pension benefits offered by the company.”

This is NBC’s statement:

“Last Autumn, members of the AFTRA bargaining unit petitioned the NLRB for an election to determine whether they would continue to be represented by the union. Today, pending official certification by the Board, the correspondents and anchors of NBC News voted to decertify the union as their collective bargaining representative. NBC Universal has many non-represented on-air employees and this group from NBC News will join their colleagues at MSNBC, CNBC and others at our television stations. We are grateful for the trust our employees have placed in the company.”
