NBC Chicago Planning To Fill Sports Vacancy Following The Death Of Daryl Hawks

By Marcus Vanderberg

Less than a week after the sudden death of Daryl Hawks, NBC Chicago announced Tuesday they are planning on hiring a replacement.

“While we have not discussed long-term plans, it is our intention to fill the position [previously held by Hawks],” said Frank Whittaker, station manager and vice president of news. Whittaker added they haven’t started the hiring process yet.

In the meantime, Paula Faris, Mike Adamle and Peggy Kusinski have handled sports for the station.
