Today on the mediabistro.com Morning Media Menu we were joined by ABC News’ David Muir, to talk about his 20/20 report tonight about the “Black Widow” murder case.
“This is one of those true crime genres stories,” he said. “This one in particular is fascinating because we were able to get access the whole way through.”
Across the board, newsmagazines continue to see ratings success. “You know that there’s still an appetite for heavy lifting, heavy interviewing,” he said. “What 20/20 does is not only tries to do that, and offer up some of these murder hours, but also take them a step further…So it’s kind of the challenge of making these stories new, fresh and revealing.”
Also discussed: the American journalist on trial in North Korea, what he thought of TMZ filming him last month (and dubbing him the “Brad Pitt of news anchors”) and What We Learned This Week.
