MSNBC’s Contessa Brewer Describes Her Toughest Interviews

TVNewser sat down with MSNBC anchor Contessa Brewer recently for a chat about the TV news biz as a part of mediabistro.com’s Media Beat interview series. In this first part, we asked Brewer to tell us about some of the most difficult interviews she’s conducted as an anchor. “I do have some guests who come on and they’re prepared to be challenging and to be difficult,” she said. “Those are always the hardest interviews, when someone comes on with an agenda and their agenda is to take you down.”

Among other things, Brewer tells us about how she got her current gig on MSNBC’s daytime line-up and what it was like going through the network’s notorious audition process. Watch the interview below:
