Rachel-MSNBCAfter only seven months on the job, MSNBC vp of communications Rachel Racusen is leaving to return to the White House.

Racusen joined MSNBC last November after a stint as associate communications director at The White House. She’s returning the Obama administration, where she will now be a White House strategic communications adviser.

“I’ve been lucky to get to work with the great team at MSNBC,” Racusen told TVNewser. “Unexpectedly, the White House reached out with an exciting opportunity to help spearhead long-term communications priorities during their ‘fourth quarter,’ and it will be an honor to return to work for the President and his administration in this new capacity”
