MSNBC Opts For Countdown Repeat Over Hayden Hearings

MSNBC aired its usual 9 a.m. repeat of Countdown with Keith Olbermann while CNN and FNC broadcast the Hayden confirmation hearings, several e-mailers note.

“I can’t believe MSNBC stayed with a taped program this morning while the Hayden hearings were in session. I have lost all respect for that network,” one person wrote.

ICN calls it “unbelievable.” MSNBC probably calls it “counterprogramming.” The Countdown repeats have done relatively well among viewers. For instance, in the 25-54 demo Monday morning, MSNBC had 105,000, CNN had 106,000, and HLN had 110,000. FNC almost doubled them all with 204,000…
