He might be on a competing network, but MSNBC still decided to spend some money and salute outgoing CNN 9 PM host Larry King.
The cable channel bought a full page ad in USA Today honoring the host, whose last show will be televised tonight.
“53 Years of Broadcasting. 50,000 Interviews. 75 Pairs of Suspenders. One of a Kind. Larry, thank you for everything you’ve done to advance cable news.”
King’s MSNBC counterpart, Rachel Maddow, already weighed in on the host’s departure, calling King’s show “An American Institution.”
“The Larry King interview is an American institution, and nothing about the ups and downs of the cable industry and its competition from broadcast and all the other developments in our business can change that. He is an institution for a reason.”
