Morning Shows Go Pink for 2014 Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Several network morning shows broke out the pink as Breast Cancer Awareness month begins. The “Today” show has former “Good Morning America” co-anchor Joan Lunden as special correspondent this week. Lunden, who recently went bald for the cover of “People” is undergoing chemotherapy to treat breast cancer. The “Today” plaza was packed with breast cancer survivors who, in an effort to destigmatize chemo-caused baldness, were encouraged to take off their wigs.

Over on “Good Morning America” Robin Roberts donated one of her wigs to eBeauty. Roberts, who donned the wig during her 2007 cancer battle, wore it during an interview with former Pres. Clinton. Amy Robach, who underwent her first mammogram for last year’s Breast Cancer Awareness month, and was later diagnosed with the disease, joined the Delta Airlines’ “Pink Plane,” — as a fill-in flight attendant.

And on “Fox & Friends” Danica Patrick unveiled her pink NASCAR car to raise awareness for breast cancer research.
