Morning Show Ratings: Week of November 25 & November Sweeps

By Chris Ariens

All three morning newscasts saw year-over-year growth during the Thanksgiving-shortened week, with “CBS This Morning” up the most in viewers (+26%), NBC’s “Today” up the most in the demo (+17%) and “GMA” holding the top spot again. The ABC show was up +17% in viewers and up +16% in the demo. CBS showed +12% demo growth year-over-year while “Today” was up +12% in viewers.

“GMA” also wins the sweeps month — its first back-to-back November sweep victories in 20 years in Total Viewers and in 21 years in A25-54 viewers. The show also grew from last November: up +12% in viewers and up +10% in the demo. NBC’s “Today” also improved on last November, up +7% in both viewers and the demo while “CBS This Morning” grew the most of all three in viewers: up +16% while also increasing in the demo +1%.

Because of Thanksgiving, ABC’s and NBC’s weekly averages are based on three days (Mon-Wed), while CBS’ weekly average is based on two days (Mon and Tues).
