Morning Show Ratings: Week of July 25 & Sweeps

NBC’s “Today” once again won the mornings for the week of July 25, but all three shows showed improvement in both Total Viewers and younger viewers compared to the same week last year.

#1 “Today” topped the 5 million viewer average and had its best advantage over #2 “Good Morning America” since the week of June 6. Meanwhile, “GMA” continued to put up its best numbers in four years and was up +16% year-over-year in Total Viewers, the most of the three shows. CBS’s “Early Show” was also up +3%.

For the July Sweep, “Today” and “GMA” also improved their July 2010 numbers, while “Early” improved in Total Viewers and dropped in younger viewers. This was the best July for “GMA” in 6 years.

The averages for the week of July 25:

  • Total Viewers: NBC: 5.05M / ABC: 4.33M / CBS: 2.25M
  • A25-54 viewers: NBC: 2.26M / ABC: 1.62M / CBS: 862K

The averages for the July 2011 Sweep:

  • Total Viewers: NBC: 4.94M / ABC: 4.45M / CBS: 2.17M
  • A25-54 viewers: NBC: 2.22M / ABC: 1.68M / CBS: 812K
