Morning Show Ratings: Week of July 1

By Chris Ariens

ABC’s “Good Morning America” wins another week and showed the most growth in the mornings. “GMA” was up +15% in total viewers and up +11% in the demo during the July 4 holiday week. “CBS This Morning” was also up +15% in viewers, but down -7% in the demo.

And for the first time in a long time “Today” showed growth when compared to the same week last year. The NBC show is up +4% in total viewers and up +3 in younger viewers. The week of July 2, 2012 was the first without Ann Curry in the co-anchor chair. A decline that had begun months earlier, sped up. At its low point late last Summer, as “GMA” zoomed by, “Today” had shed nearly a third of its audience.

Due to the July 4th holiday, all three programs are based on 3 days (Mon-Wed).
