Morning Show Ratings: Week of January 10

By Chris Ariens

All the broadcast morning shows saw improvement last week, when compared to the same week in 2010. The new “Early Show” team, in its second week together, was up +3% in Total Viewers. The #1 morning show NBC’s “Today” was up +2% while “Good Morning America” was up the most +9% year-over-year. “Today” was the only program up in younger viewers (+5%), while “GMA” and “Early” were flat. Interesting that all three shows were up considering the Haiti earthquake, a major news story, occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010. Of course, the week of Jan. 10, 2011 saw extensive follow-up coverage to the massacre in Tucson.

  • Total Viewers: NBC: 5.87M / ABC: 4.73M / CBS: 3.02M
  • A25-54 viewers: NBC: 2.70M / ABC: 1.82M / CBS: 1.29M
