Morning Show Ratings: Week of December 30

MorningShowNEW“Good Morning America” ends 2013 and begins 2014 with another weekly win.

On Thursday, the second day of 2014, “GMA” topped No. 2 “Today” by 505,000 viewers in the A25-54 demo, its largest single-day news demo advantage over “Today” in nearly 19 years – since January 30, 1995.

Compared to the same week last year “GMA” is up +16% in viewers and up +19% in the demo, while “Today” was down in both categories: down -3% in viewers and -6% in the demo. “CBS This Morning,” which celebrated two years on the air yesterday, also showed year-over-year-growth: up +15% in viewers and up +2% in the demo.

Due to New Year’s holidays, all three shows are based on 3 days (Mon., Thurs. and Fri.).

The averages for the week of December 30, 2013:

  • Total Viewers: ABC: 5.579M / NBC: 4.456M / CBS: 2.926M
  • A25-54 viewers: ABC: 2.116M / NBC: 1.784M / CBS: 953K
