Morning Show Ratings: Week of December 2

Each of the three morning newscasts is doing something right. Last week, each broadcast saw double digit growth vs. the same week last year.

ABC’s “Good Morning America” remains solidly in first place and was up +17% in viewers and up +21% in the younger demo. “GMA” had its best week in the demo in 7 years, since the week of Feb. 26, 2007. Last week, the show bid farewell to weatherman Sam Champion who moved to the Weather Channel.

Meanwhile, No. 2 “Today” had its best week in the news demo since August, 2012, which was the second week of the London Olympics. “Today” was up +11% in viewers and up +18% in the demo.

“CBS This Morning” showed the most growth in the mornings up a whopping +25% in viewers and up +11% in the demo.

The averages for the week of Dec. 2, 2013:

  • Total Viewers: ABC: 5.874M / NBC: 5.213M / CBS: 3.112M
  • A25-54 viewers: ABC: 2.300M / NBC: 2.234M / CBS: 1.057M
