Morning Show Ratings: ‘Today’ Tops ‘GMA’ in Sawyer’s Final Week

Diane Sawyer’s last week on ABC’s “Good Morning America” was accompanied by increased week-to-week viewership across the morning shows. Even though Sawyer’s farewell week delivered her show’s best ratings in at least 7 months, NBC’s “Today” show also saw a boost and won the week with nearly 6 million total viewers.

“GMA” saw the largest week-to-week increase, with an additional 510,000 total viewers (170,000 in the demo). On Sawyer’s last day, ABC drew 5.18 million total viewers (2.01 million in the demo), but even on that day, 719,000 more viewers tuned in to “Today.”

CBS’ “Early Show” topped 3 million total viewers for the week, up 280K from the previous week.
