Mitt Romney, Fox News Win New Hampshire Primary

By Chris Ariens

Like Mitt Romney, Fox News has swept the first two statewide GOP contests. According to Nielsen Fast National data, during last night’s coverage of the GOP New Hampshire primary, Fox News averaged 2.25 million Total Viewers and 550K A25-54 viewers in primetime (8-11pm) drawing more than the combined average of CNN and MSNBC.

  • FNC – 2.25M / 550K
  • CNN – 1.11M / 401K
  • MSNBC – 1.05M / 245K

Fox News didn’t get much of a boost vs. a normal Tuesday, up +4% (vs. the prior four Tuesdays not including Jan. 3). CNN was up +106% and MSNBC up +17%. Because New Hampshire was all but decided by 8pm, all three networks were down compared to the Iowa Caucus when coverage went into Wednesday morning.
