The actor who plays the 3rd Vice President of the United States had a message for the man who will be the 45th U.S. Vice President.

Mike Pence took his family see the Tony-award winning Broadway musical Hamilton Friday night. They were met with some boos and some cheers when they arrived. “I nudged my kids and reminded them that’s what freedom sounds like,” Pence told Fox News Sunday’s Chris Wallace this morning. After the show, actor Brandon Victor Dixon, who plays Aaron Burr, delivered a message to Pence calling on him to “uphold American values.”

This morning VP-elect Pence said he “wasn’t offended” by Dixon’s message, telling Wallace, “I know this is a very disappointing time for people that did not see their candidate win this national election. I know this is a very anxious time for some people and I just want to reassure people that what President-elect Donald Trump said on election night he absolutely made from the bottom of his heart.”

While he said he’ll leave it to others to judge whether a Broadway stage was the right venue for the message, he encouraged others to go see Hamilton “It’s a great, great show,” he said.
