Michael Bass Joins CNN

By Chris Ariens

On his morning editorial call, CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker announced that Michael Bass is joining the network later this week. Bass joins from the syndicated “Katie” where he was co-EP.

At CNN, he will take on a senior editorial role, which, we’re told, will include overseeing CNN’s vast network of on-air contributors as well as other other day-to-day duties.

Bass was a longtime Zucker lieutenant at “Today.” He left NBC in 2001 to take over as EP of CBS’s “The Early Show.” He returned to NBC in 2007 in a business development role and joined Katie Couric’s syndicated show last summer.
