The “legend” who returned to “Today” this morning was revealed to be Meredith Vieira who anchored the show from 2006 to 2011. Matt Lauer announced Vieira isn’t just back for one morning, but will be a part of the “Today” show’s two weeks of coverage from the London Olympics in August.
Vieira also announced she’ll play a crucial role in what ends up being one of the most-watched TV events every four years. “I’m going to be hosting the Opening Ceremonies along with you [Lauer] and Bob Costas,” said Vieira.
“Good to have you back for that,” said Lauer.
