Mel Karmazin Listens to CNBC

By Chris Ariens

This stood out in Andrew Ross Sorkin’s piece on the challenges facing Sirius XM chief Mel Karmazin now that his “dream deal” has come true.

Slumped so far down in his chair he had almost turned it into a chaise lounge, Mr. Karmazin said he was on the line with “an important customer” who, it turned out, was Robert Wright, the former chairman of NBC, which provides several stations to Sirius, including the one Mr. Karmazin said is his favorite on the entire dial, CNBC.

So now the question: Does the former CBS CEO also watch the business channel, or just listen to it on his satellite radio?
