Megyn Kelly Added to Stephen Colbert Super Bowl Show

By Chris Ariens

Fox News Channel’s Megyn Kelly has been booked for the coveted post-Super Bowl edition of Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Other guests include Tina Fey, Margot Robbie and Will Ferrell, as well as comedy duo Key & Peele.

For the last five months, since the first Fox News debate, Kelly has found herself in Donald Trump‘s line of fire, which culminated last week when Trump pulled out of the second Fox News GOP debate.

12.5 million watched Kelly and her Fox News colleagues moderate that debate. The post-Super Bowl slot should be at least double that.

For this week’s Adweek cover, Jason Lynch talked with Colbert about what to expect for the post-Super Bowl extravaganza.

Everything’s about Super Bowl. We’ll do our live analysis, and we’ll have our live analysis of the most important thing: who won the commercials. And we’ll have our own Super Bowl commercial. We’ll be watching the game and writing the show as we go. We practiced doing the Patriots-Broncos [AFC Championship game] because that’s something we’ve never done before. We’ve written jokes live about an election, but how do you write jokes about a Super Bowl? We’ve got to turn the jokes around in 20 minutes.
