Media CEOs Dominate List of Highest-Paid Executives

By Mark Joyella

Media CEOs took six of ten top spots in a list of highest paid chief executives, reports the Associated Press.

The study of best-compensated CEOs of large American companies was conducted by data firm Equilar and the AP. At the top was Discovery Communications chief David Zaslav, whose total compensation more than quadrupled to $156.1 million in 2014.

The Hill says Zaslav’s income–compared to that of Discovery employees–makes him “the poster child for income inequality.”

CBS’ Les Moonves was second on the list with a pay package totaling $54.4 million. CEOs from Viacom, Disney, Comcast and Time Warner filled out the top ten.
