‘Media Blackout’ in Afghanistan

One of the side-effects of the McChrystal/Rolling Stone issue might be a severing of any casual access journalists had with the military in Afghanistan. This morning, NBC’s Richard Engel, who had just been at a U.S. military base said that “a media blackout has been issued” and that attempts are being made to keep those of lower rank from getting ensnared in the controversy.
