Mark Cuban Says He’ll Debate O’Reilly, If Olbermann Moderates

By Chris Ariens

The Bill O’Reilly, Mark Cuban battle is intensifying. Now the billionaire NBA team owner and movie producer says he’d like to have a “discussion” with O’Reilly about his new and controversial movie Redacted. And Cuban would like to have the discussion moderated by Keith Olbermann on MSNBC’s Countdown. Wow!

This latest round re-ignited last Friday when Cuban took a shot at O’Reilly while speaking at the Blog World Expo in Las Vegas. (TVNewser attended the event. You can read the story here.) O’Reilly picked up on Cuban’s comments on his show Monday night:

“You ought to be ashamed of yourself. While you’re Dancing with the Stars, sir, hundreds of thousands of brave military people are risking their lives so you can do the mambo without fear of some terrorists blowing you the hell up. Your arrogance is horrifying.”

Well, Olbermann emailed Cuban and asked if he’d respond. And Cuban did. Here’s the email:

“The definition of Billsanity is repeating the same discussion with Bill O’Reilly multiple times and expecting the outcome to change. But if Bill truly feels this is important enough to him, I invite him to come on the Countdown for a discussion about Redacted that Keith can moderate. I’m happy to have the discussion with him. I’m just as happy to sit through a screening of the movie with him if
he likes.”

Doubt that will happen, on so many levels, including the fact that O’Reilly has said, “I would never sit through a movie that shows American troops raping and murdering a 14-year-old girl, ever.”

Redacted is a work of fiction, based on actual events. O’Reilly predicts the movie “will incite anti-American hatred around the world.”
