Mark Buehrle Stands By His Comments On Michael Vick

By Marcus Vanderberg

Chicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle stands by his quote about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick that mysteriously disappeared from a MLB.com story last week.

“No, I said it,” said Buehrle. “It’s an old story. Again, we are not bringing drama inside and past history stuff. So, I said it, meant it. It’s over, and we’ll move on.”

The quote Buehrle is referring to was originally in Scott Merkin’s story before it was pulled:

“He had a great year and a great comeback, but there were times where we watched the game and I know it’s bad to say, but there were times where we hope he gets hurt,” Buehrle said. “Everything you’ve done to these dogs, something bad needs to happen to these guys.”

I got it!

What if Oprah Winfrey was planning on bringing out Buehrle to confront Vick and that’s why he canceled?
