Maria Molina Leaving Fox & Friends

By Mark Joyella

After six years at Fox News, Fox & Friends meteorologist Maria Molina announced this morning she will be leaving the show to pursue her Ph.D. at Central Michigan University.

Molina, who grew up in South Florida, noted the anniversary Wednesday of Hurricane Andrew’s devastating landfall—and how it inspired her to pursue a career in meteorology. “After the storm, I told my parents I wanted to be a meteorologist on TV to forecast dangerous weather for the public. Fox News Channel helped me reach that dream.”

Molina, who will relocate to Detroit, will also freelance for the Fox-owned station in Detroit, WJBK. Molina begins her graduate studies on Monday.
