Man, I’d Love to Wear That CNN.com Headline…

By SteveK

There’s a video on CNN.com right now headlined “Dad mistakes son for prey, shoots.” The story is about a Minnesota man who shot and killed his eight-year-old son on a hunting trip. Sad story…but wearable headline?

That headline is just one of the many that will now be available as a T-shirt, starting today, from CNN.com. There is a new T-shirt icon next to some of the headlines, and fans can order a shirt that gives the headline, and an accompanying slogan (“I just saw it on CNN.com”) and time stamp.

So far only a few video headlines are available for purchase in T-shirt form. The web site for all shirts (still in Beta form) is CNN.com/tshirt.

Other possible options for your CNN.com wardrobe — “Weird fish leave sea, spawn on beach” or “Waste food dished up to hungry diners.”

> Update: The story about the father accidentally shooting his son no longer is a T-shirt-enabled headline. A CNN spokesperson tells TVNewser, “It was a mistake, and we’ve since corrected it.” CNN says there are standards for which video headlines can be made into T-shirts, and will not include any videos about murder, dismemberment or other violent stories, or those about celebrities.
