Make A Wish: California Teen To Meet Jim Lehrer

For seventeen-year-old Colette Jaycox, it’s a wish come true.

The Fremont, California teen, who’s battling leukemia, was asked by the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation whom she’d most like to meet. Her answer: Jim Lehrer, anchor of her favorite program, PBS’s The NewsHour.

Now that dream will become a reality. On Tuesday, Jaycox and her family are scheduled to meet Lehrer and observe a show taping. They’ll also have time during their trip East to see the sights in Washington, D.C.
