First on TVNewser: Liz Claman has left CNBC, a high-level insider tells TVNewser. Claman anchored CNBC’s #1 rated business day program, Morning Call, which airs from 10-Noon ET.

Sources expect Claman to land at Fox Business Network, set to launch this fall. Claman has been a star anchor and reporter at the net (remember the Warren Buffett interviews?) since 1998.

In an interview with Marketwatch.com’s Jon Friedman in February Claman said of the threat from FBN “all competition is good, it makes us all better, and fight harder…”

> Update: CNBC confirmed the news in a memo this afternoon…

> An Emailer writes: “Liz Claman leaving = massive loss for CNBC. CEO’s loved this gal… we had lots of fun in the newsroom daily perusing the no less than 4 Yahoo! chat groups about her.”

> A CNBC insider adds: “CNBC has great strength with Maria Bartiromo, Erin Burnett, and Becky Quick … CEO’s love them too.”
