Liz Claman Leaves CNBC: “Highest-Rated Anchor At The Network”

By Brian

A couple of weeks ago, before today’s announcement of Liz Claman‘s departure from CNBC, a network insider pointed out that she has “quietly become the highest-rated anchor at the network.”

The insider wrote: “Her show ‘Morning Call’ has been the number one show on CNBC during Business Day [in total viewers — not the demo]. For the last eight quarters, her show has been either number one or tied for first.”

It’s easy to argue, however, that Claman is only #1 because of her prime morning time slot. The 9:30am Squawk on the Street delivered more demo viewers than Morning Call in Q2. And Claman doesn’t exactly fit into the “new CNBC” model archetyped by Erin Burnett
