Liz Claman Joins FBN, Appears On-Air Today

TVNewser has learned that, after months of speculation, Fox Business News will announce shortly that Liz Claman has joined the network, with her on-air debut to come at approximately 2 pmET.

Claman left CNBC in July. Her 90-day non-compete agreement just expired on Monday, October 15.

Debut to Be Marked by Exclusive Interview with Warren Buffett

FOX Business Network (FBN) has named Liz Claman as a daytime anchor, announced Kevin Magee, Executive Vice President, FOX News. Claman will make her FBN debut at 2:00 PM/EST this afternoon, followed by an exclusive interview with legendary investor and Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett at 4:00 PM/EST.

In her new role at FBN, Claman will co-anchor the afternoon weekday business block from 2:00-5:00 PM EST with David Asman beginning on Monday in studio.

In making the announcement, Magee said, “We are thrilled to welcome Liz to FBN. She has a tremendous reputation in the marketplace for her ability to cover serious business and economic issues that impact everyday Americans.”

Claman added, “I’m excited to join the team at FBN. This is a tremendous opportunity for me to contribute to a new business news network and cover the markets and Wall Street in a way that reaches a broader audience.”

Since 1998, Claman has served as an anchor at CNBC, most recently on Morning Call and Cover to Cover. Prior to that, she anchored Wake Up Call, Market Watch and Today’s Business. While there, Claman interviewed major financial newsmakers including Buffett, Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez and former Treasury Secretary John Snow.

Before joining CNBC, Claman served as an anchor and reporter for WHDH-TV (NBC) in Boston and was a contributing correspondent for NBC’s syndicated daytime program RealLife. Prior to WHDH-TV, she was an anchor for WEWS-TV (ABC) in Cleveland and received an Emmy Award for her work there. Claman began her on-air career at WSYX-TV (ABC) in Columbus, OH as a reporter and later as a weekend anchor. Earlier, she was a news associate for KCBS-TV (CBS) in Los Angeles where she distinguished herself as the youngest person in the station’s history to win a local Emmy Award for Best Spot News Producer.
