Lisa Ling Tapped For CBS ‘Job’ Reality Show

By Alex Weprin

Journalists are no strangers to hosting reality shows (who can forget Anderson Cooper on “The Mole?”), but a potential new CBS reality show–to be hosted by OWN correspondent and former ABC and CNN correspondent Lisa Ling–might take the cake.

Tentatively titled “The Job,” the CBS pilot is being produced by reality juggernaut Mark Burnett. What is it about? Let’s let Vulture’s Joe Adalian break it down:

The idea behind the show: Five qualified folks, chosen from an applicant pool of thousands, compete for a chance to win a gig at a well-known company. Each week will feature a different batch of contestants and, we assume, a new company (shades of Undercover Boss, sans the undercover part).

Yup, now in order to get a normal job, you might have to appear on a ridiculous reality show, hosted by a journalist no less. Want to become McDonalds’ next burger flipper? Then sign that NDA!
