Lester Holt Decides on Debate Topics

By Chris Ariens

Lester Holt had a busy weekend.

On Saturday night, the NBC Nightly News anchor rushed to the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan to cover the explosion on 23rd Street, reporting for NBC and MSNBC’s live coverage.

That came in the midst of debate preparations. Holt will moderate the first presidential debate one week from tonight. The Commission on Presidential Debates announced Monday afternoon that Holt has selected the topics for that debate. The include America’s Direction, Achieving Prosperity and Securing America.

Holt will also be taking a break from debate prep tomorrow night as he performs at a bash for Dateline NBC’s 25 anniversary. Holt has been anchor of the show since 2011.
