Lee Woodruff Joins Good Morning America

GMA senior EP Jim Murphy has announced that Lee Woodruff is joining ABC News as a life and family contributor for Good Morning America. Lee Woodruff is the wife of ABC’s Bob Woodruff. In a press release, ABC says “Lee is a familiar face to ABC News viewers as America witnessed her incredible spirit when her husband was injured in a roadside bomb attack while reporting in Iraq.”

A one-time PR exec, Lee Woodruff is a freelance writer for publications including Health, Redbook and Country Living. Lee and Bob Woodruff also co-authored “In an Instant,” which told the story of Bob’s recovery from the Iraq attack.

LEE WOODRUFF TO JOIN ABC NEWS’ “GOOD MORNING AMERICA” AS A LIFE

AND FAMILY CONTRIBUTOR

Lee Woodruff has joined ABC News’ “Good Morning America” as a life and family contributor. It was announced today by “Good Morning America” senior executive producer Jim Murphy. Woodruff will be a regular contributor to the morning broadcast and is scheduled to appear on the program later this week.

Lee is a familiar face to ABC News viewers as America witnessed her incredible spirit when her husband, ABC News anchor, Bob Woodruff, was injured in a roadside bomb attack while reporting in Iraq.

“We look forward to seeing Lee on ‘GMA’ as she draws from her own experiences and personal insights to help our viewers learn about dealing with life’s many challenges and turning points,” said Jim Murphy, senior executive producer of “Good Morning America.”

Lee is a freelance writer for various publications including Health, Redbook and Country Living. Lee also serves as a contributing editor to Family Fun Magazine. For the past 16 years, Lee ran her own successful pr/marketing consulting business. Prior to that, Lee was senior vice president of the public relations firm Porter Novelli. She also held a senior level position with Hill & Knowlton. She is the founder of the Bob Woodruff Family Fund. Lee and Bob Woodruff are also co-authors of the # 1 best-selling book “In an Instant.”
