Late Night Ratings: Week of July 12

By Alex Weprin

NBC’s “Tonight Show” was once again the top program in late night. The program beat out ABC’s “Nightline” and CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman” in total viewers, A18-49 (which are the comedy program’s key demographic) and A25-54 (Nightline’s key demo).

Both “Tonight” and “Nightline” were down in all three categories compared to last week, while the “Late Show” was up in all three.

“Nightline” is about to lose one of its star anchors, with Martin Bashir announcing earlier today that he would be joining NBC News. GMA Weekend’s Bill Weir will be replacing Bashir at the late night program.
