Larry King Plotting Return to Radio With Ryan Seacrest?

By Alex Weprin

Outgoing CNN host Larry King may be planning a return to his media roots on talk radio.

TMZ reports that King is talking with his buddy, “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest about launching a new syndicated radio show.

The King show would likely be part of a “mega-deal” Seacrest is eying when his current deal with Clear Channel ends later this year. Seacrest currently hosts the syndicated programs “American Top 40” and “On-Air with Ryan Seacrest” on stations across the country.

When he announced he would step down from his program earlier this year, King said that if he could choose a replacement, it would be Seacrest, who has filled in for him in the past.

As we reported, King will be free to pursue other opportunities under his new agreement with CNN, as long as he does not join a direct competitor to the network. Radio would presumably by fair game.
