Kiran Chetry to Report for NBC’s ‘Rock Center’

By Chris Ariens

It’s been more than 20 months since Kiran Chetry left the couch of CNN’s then morning show “American Morning.” But Chetry will be returning to the airwaves this Friday, reporting for “Rock Center.” In a human interest story, Chetry travels to Castle Heights Elementary school in Lebanon, Tennessee, which is home to 15 sets of twins.

We’ve reached out to NBC to ask if this is a one-off assignment or if we should expect to see more of Chetry on “Rock Center.” We’ll let you know when we hear back. Update: Chetry is on a freelance contract, so there could be more ‘Rock Center’ pieces in her future.

Chetry spent 5 years at CNN following a highly publicized departure from Fox News in 2007.
