Keith Olbermann Returns to MSNBC Tuesday

By Chris Ariens

MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann returns from a two-day, unpaid suspension Tuesday evening. The network’s president Phil Griffin released a statement tonight announcing the news.

After several days of deliberation and discussion, I have determined that suspending Keith through and including Monday night’s program is an appropriate punishment for his violation of our policy. We look forward to having him back on the air Tuesday night.

This afternoon, Olbermann tweeted:

Greetings From Exile! A quick, overwhelmed, stunned THANK YOU for support that feels like a global hug & obviously left me tweetless XO

As of tonight, the SaveOlbermann.com campaign had gotten more than 304,300 sign-ups on a petition to put Olbermann back on the air. The petition got an extra push from filmmaker Michael Moore this morning on Twitter.
