‘Katie’ Shakes Up Leadership Team, as Co-EPs and Director Exit

After just a few weeks running Katie Couric’s syndicated talk show “Katie,” Rachel Miskowiec is shaking up the leadership team there.

Two of the program’s co-executive producers, Kathy Samuels and Ethan Nelson, are departing. Samuels joined the program before it launched last year, while Nelson came on board earlier this year.

Also departing is director Joe Terry, Oprah Winfrey’s old director, who joined the program at launch. B&C’s Paige Albiniak has more on the departures.

Syndicated TV is rife with staff turnaround, particularly at the top of the food chain. “Katie” debuted to a successful first season, but the numbers were not as high as the studio was hoping, resulting in the addition of Miskowiec, the former EP of “The Tyra Banks Show.”
