Juan Williams on NPR Firing: ‘They were looking for a reason to get rid of me, because I appear on Fox News’

Juan Williams will be hosting “The O’Reilly Factor” tonight, but last night he was on the show talking about his firing from NPR.

“They were looking for a reason to get rid of me, because I appear on Fox News,” said Williams to O’Reilly. “They don’t want me talking to you.”

O’Reilly played a clip of NPR president Vivian Schiller’s appearance during a speech yesterday where she said, “Juan feels the way he feels, that’s not for me to pass judgment on. The feelings he expressed on Fox News are between his psychiatrist or his publicist take your pick. But they are not compatible with the role of a news analyst on NPR’s air.” Schiller later apologized, but Williams pointed out on “O’Reilly”, that she didn’t apologize to him.
