MSNBNC’s Joy Reid was honored with the 2016 Hank Meyer National Headliner Award. The award, presented in Key Biscayne last Wednesday, honors journalists for “their skills at communication to promote dialogue and understanding between and among the diverse members of American society.”

The Miami Coalition of Christians and Jews presents the annual award. The first Headliner Award recipient, in 1979, was CBS’s Walter Cronkite. Miami native Chuck Todd received the award last year.

Today begins the second weekend of Reid’s new MSNBC morning show, AM Joy. Guests today include E.J. Dionne, Kristen Welker, Genevieve Wood, former Rep. Alan Grayson,(D-FL), former Pres. George H.W. Bush spokesman Gian-Carlo Peressutti, and actor Tony Goldwyn.
