Update: 8:42 p.m. ET: Univision News president Daniel Coronell says he talked to Ramos and after being detained for three hours, it appears the journalists have now been released. However, they did not have their equipment and interview material returned.
According to a source, Ramos and the team will be deported from Venezuela Tuesday morning and back in the newsroom Tuesday afternoon.

Coronell also thanked the Mexico’s secretary of foreign affairs Marcelo Ebrard, who also reached out to the Venezuelan government to express his concerns about what was being done to the Univision journalists.

Well here’s some scary news. A team of Univision journalists, led by the network’s lead anchor Jorge Ramos, have been detained against their will at the Miraflores Palace, in Caracas, Venezuela.
According to Univision News president Daniel Coronell, the team is being detained because the country’s president Nicolás Maduro did not like the questions that Ramos was asking during their sit-down interview. According to the tweet below, the news crew’s technical equipment has also been confiscated.

ABC World News Tonight Weekend anchor Tom Llamas also sat down with Maduro today. Apparently, the Venezuelan leader didn’t mind the ABC Newser’s questions quite as much. Unlike the Univision crew, the ABC News crew was not detained.
