Jon Stewart Set to Return, Hosting WWE’s ‘Summer Slam’

By Mark Joyella

Former Daily Show host Jon Stewart has been gone for only a matter of days, and now we know when he’ll surface again: August 23 at 7 p.m. ET. Stewart won’t be moderating a debate, but he will be hosting a different kind of slugfest–WWE’s Summer Slam.

The professional wrestling network says Stewart is “a longtime WWE fan” who appeared in storylines earlier this year with some of the network’s biggest characters, including an “ongoing feud” with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. Rollins appeared on The Daily Show where he challenged Stewart to appear on Monday Night Raw to “settle their score.”

“I hope, my friend, that you are prepared for a world of hurt,” Rollins said at the time.
