Jon Miller "Not Likely" To Accept ESPN Radio Offer

Former Sunday Night Baseball announcer Jon Miller is leaning towards turning down ESPN’s offer to move to the radio booth for the 2011 season.

Miller learned that he wouldn’t be returning to the television booth after a 21-year run with Joe Morgan during his vacation in England. The offer is still being discussed with ESPN but he is “not likely” to accept.

Despite his abrupt departure from ESPN, the San Francisco Giants play-by-play announcer had nothing but good things to say about the network.

“I never would have expected 21 years when I started,” Miller said. “We were in a prime-time slot every Sunday for 21 years. That might be unprecedented in our particular business.”

There hasn’t been an official announcement from ESPN yet but Dan Shulman is the favorite to replace Miller in the booth.
