John Oliver Bought Airtime on New Day, Morning Joe and Fox & Friends

By Chris Ariens

John Oliver‘s Last Week Tonight bought airtime on the three cable news morning shows today, in the Washington D.C. market this morning. The spot looks a lot like a commercial currently in rotation–about a cowboy who uses catheters–but is embedded with messages to Pres. Trump.

Oliver said producing the commercial, and buying the airtime, “is one small way” to “sneak some useful facts into his media diet.”

Go to 21:25 in the video below to see the ad that was produced. Oliver said the spot aired between 8:30-9 a.m. on the three networks. We’ve reached out to them to determine if it did in fact air during the local ad buy. If you’re in the D.C. market and you saw it, let us know.
