Chuck Todd and Joe Scarborough got into a shouting match over the parenting skills of Bob Bergdahl, the father of just-released American POW Bowe Bergdahl. It started when Scarborough held up an image from today’s TIME magazine, and was questioning Pres. Obama putting his arm about Bob Bergdahl, following Saturday’s announcement, who had been “reaching out to pro-Taliban forces” during his son’s captivity.
“Don’t criticize the parents, here. Don’t criticize the parents,” Todd interjected from Brussels, where he is traveling with the president. “Oh, my God Chuck,” Scarborough shot back. “Any good father would not tell their son to ‘follow their conscience,’ and…”
Chuck: So he’s a bad father?
Joe: Yes. Yes, he is!
Chuck: Wow!
