On “Morning Joe” this morning, host Joe Scarborough let viewers in on the reason why he occasionally interrupts guests: his producers screaming in his ear.
Trying to speed up POLITICO’s Jim VandeHei’s answer, Scarborough explained his cutting off guests.
“Alright I was just told by Alex (Korson), just stop your hopefulness. Let’s talk about where somebody threatens to beat up a reporter,” Scarborough said.
“I just want to finish this one point,” VandeHei insisted.
“Make it real quick, because Alex said we’re running out of time,” Scarborough said followed by co-host Mika Brzezinski gasping at him.
“Alex, people don’t know, that when I jump in, they’re like ‘oh, why is Joe so mean?’ That’s because you guys are always screaming in my ear we gotta go to break.”
“Morning Joe” EP Alex Korson defended his host with a quipp about Congressman Michael Grimm’s aggressive dust-up with a local reporter after the State of the Union: “It’s true, I threatened to throw you off a balcony.”
