Joan Rivers on CNN Interview: ‘Every Question Was an Accusatory One’

By Jordan Chariton

RiversIf you didn’t catch any fireworks on the 4th of July, comedian Joan Rivers provided some Saturday when she walked out of her CNN interview with Fredricka Whitfield.

“I’m going…all you’ve done is negative,” Rivers said in response to Whitfield asking about her about wearing fur on the cover of her new book when she knew animal rights groups would object. “You are not the one to interview a person who does humor, sorry” Rivers said angrily before storming off set.

“The CNN interviewer was a news reporter and not an entertainment reporter,” Rivers told TheWrap. “She did not seem to understand we were talking about a comedy book and not the transcripts from the Nuremburg Trial. Every question was an accusatory one designed to put me on the defensive.”
