Jesse Palmer is leaving ABC News and joining the syndicated series DailyMailTV, where he will host the daily show.

“I’m honored to be joining DailyMailTV,” Palmer said in a statement. “I’ve always been a huge fan of DailyMail.com, so to bring the world’s most read English language newspaper website to television for the first time is an opportunity I couldn’t refuse.”

The series, which debuts Sept. 18, will air on stations across the country covering 96 percent of the nation. It intends to “bring the best of DailyMail.com to life on television. From exclusive stories to breaking news, showbiz, politics, crime, health and science and technology,” a statement reads.

DailyMailTV has the backing of Dr. Phil McGraw, who is an executive producer along with DailyMail.com publisher Martin Clarke. Veteran series producers Carla Pennington and Jay McGraw are day-to-day executive producers.

Palmer had been with ABC News since May 2015 joining as a contributor for Good Morning America. Palmer, who spent 5 seasons in the NFL and one season as The Bachelor, will continue as a football analyst for ESPN.

“I’ve always been impressed by Jesse’s reporting on ABC and ESPN and I’m delighted he is now joining the DailyMailTV team,” said Clarke. “He is a fantastic broadcaster who will tell the stories of the day that matter to our American viewers.”
